Following a successful career in BigLaw, I launched StarrParalegals to provide 21^st century paralegal support to attorneys in Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights, all things ECF, and more. In my role as Paralegal Extraordinaire, I help attorneys throughout the US make their “billable dollar worth every penny.”^©

It was an obvious and natural transition – bankruptcy courts had been using e-filing and document management for years; lawyers were finally starting to see the real advantages of technology; and, well, the economy could no longer support traditional law firms. The time was ripe for this enterprising paralegal to hang my virtual shingle to offer savvy solos and small firms a reliable, cost-effective staffing alternative that would allow them to maintain their image of professionalism and their bottom line . . . outsourcing paralegal duties.

Education & Qualifications:

I’m a daughter of the GSOT (living in Georgia) and member of the University of Texas at Austin Centennial Graduating Class where I earned a B.A. in Political Science (w/minors in Psychology & Classical Civilization) in 1983. Just weeks after commencement, I enrolled at Southwestern Paralegal Institute in Houston – one of the first ABA approved paralegal certification programs in the US – graduating as a certificated paralegal.

I earned my Certified Bankruptcy Assistant (“CBA”) credentials in 2006; received a Master of Science of Law (“J.S.M.”), cum laude, in Bankruptcy & Restructuring and E-commerce from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2012 and a Master of Arts in Training & Development (“MATD”), summa cum laude, from Roosevelt University in 2016.

After 30-many years of experience and training, I’m recognized as a leader in the paralegal community and SME on ethics, working virtually, ‘paralegaling’, e-filing, DMCA for small business, and more. I have been a featured speaker at conferences and presented webinars with articles and interviews featured in ABA GPSolo Magazine, The National Paralegal Reporter, Paralegal Today, Law Technology News, BankruptcyProfessional.com, and The Fulton County Daily Report. And, for good measure, I’m currently serving as Chair of NFPA’s Ethics Board.
